Our Story

Several years ago our family decided it was time to bring another puppy into our lives (we had an English Bulldog named Max, who was getting on in age). This is where our lovely girl, “June” entered the picture. I stumbled upon the Facebook page of a local breeder of “English Cream” golden retrievers. Her dogs were lovely, healthy, and it seemed that she was doing things right! We put money down on a female and anxiously awaited the birth of the litter! Prior to the birth of our puppy, I began having some serious and seemingly unexplained heath issues. I was in no shape to welcome a new puppy to my home. I almost backed out, but had PROMISED my children we would be getting our girl, and felt strongly that I couldn’t go back on my promise. We went through with the purchase and welcomed the prettiest little polar bear puppy to our family. June was the absolute best puppy ever! Her and I developed a special bond. With me being unwell (I had to quit my job and was barely able to keep up

with laundry and dishes, spending my days in bed, or in short bursts of productivity before laying down again) I was her primary caretaker. If she cried in the night, I got up to console her. When she was potty/kennel training, I was the one to take her out to go potty or play or go back to her kennel. My health mystery took 2 years to sort through and solve, and she was literally by my side for it all. If I was in the kitchen doing dishes, she was lying at my feet. If I was in bed. She was lying at the foot of it. When I flew out to the Mayo Clinic for treatment, she searched for me for the entire two weeks that I was gone, and went right back to being my shadow upon my return. She showed the most loyalty, patience, and empathy that I have EVER experienced from a pet! It was during those two hard years that we began talking as a family about how every family needs a “June”, and decided to ask for full registration and breeding rights on our girl! And now you can have a “June” too!
